satu's blog

Drupal Gardens

Hats off to the Drupal people who have come up with Drupal Gardens. Really cool stuff. So many things can be done. Very customizable. So many options that I got lost.

Looks like another steep learning curve up ahead.

So I'll stick to WordPress for now and leave this blog still in Drupal 5.

cheers

Still Working

Cannot believe how fast WordPress has progressed.
While I have been a drupal supporter and how cool it has been, I have to admit that WordPress community deserves the praise. So simple to use.

So am leaving drupal for some higher calling while I learn to use WordPress. Updating WordPress is really so simple. While drupal shouts how stable it is and how it now as Aquia and now Gardens, I'd be happy with WordPress. I guess I could learn up theming in WordPress too

So bye for now Drupal. You will still be in my memories.

Happy New Year 2010

This year I will stop working on Drupal 5 and learn up Drupal 7 so that I won't get left out if I am still catching up on Drupal 6 :D

Things are moving so fast these days and I must learn to value the time and life and health that I have to make the most of it. To use my life to tell people about the Lord Jesus who gave His Life to save mine.

Happy New Ear

Staying on with Drupal 5

Drupal is growing so fast that I'm not able to catch up. While they've made Drupal 6 so much easier for customization and theming, the functions have also opened up much more.

Then there's Aquia drupal - a commercial version of Drupal with support services. Then Drupal 7 is going to be released. So might as well learn up Drupal 7 theming before upgrading it.

Cheers to Drupal

Moving to Drupal 6

Am now rethinking about moving to Drupal 6 because it really took me a lot of time to customize this free CSS template to fit Drupal 5 and now to recode it for Drupal 6? Hmm... I wonder if it's worth the time and investment.

Also I've been struggling to insert pictures into posts. Seems easier to stick with WordPress when it comes to blogs.

Also now getting a hang of CMS Made Simple. It's not that simple but never heard much of SEO on them. Drupal has good SEO rating and it has won many awards. But then again if I don't know how to implement it then it's just another white elephant.

What next?

Have been using this drupal irregularly and am wondering what next?

Seems like I have lost my focus online and just wasting some space so I should just clean up and move on.

ZoomCities forum is one place you should not miss if you want to learn about hosting and web making and designs. There's a nice community that's supportive and a very generous admin who's been upgrading and adding servers while providing FREE hosting.

Am able to provide FREE hosting courtesy of ZoomCities but so far only 2 persons are being hosted with my account. Very stable servers.

Zoomcities Asia

The above takes you to the zoomcities asia website. Check out the hosting packages there escially if you are interested to get a "zoomcities.asia" subdomain for FREE.

Am getting an account there too for my forums discussing speech and hearing problems in Asia.

Disliking DRUPAL?

Am starting to wonder if one would dislike drupal when it comes to blogging. Especially when you want to post with pictures. Some suggest to add on the TinyMCE module so that it would be better but the images has to be stored somewhere right?

Posting without images is easy but with images, the problem arises that you have to add it in a certain location.

Anyway upgrading is easier once you get the hang of things in DRUPAL 5 but I Drupal 6 is easier.

ZoomCities.asia

Good news. Now we can get FREE hosting for websites catering to Asia Community. Server in Singapore.
